If your house has a 100 amp service and you need more amperage for household, garage, or shop use, or your fuses keep blowing, you may not have to pay for a panel upgrade. Consider converting your electric appliances ie., clothes dryer (30 amps), hot water heater (30 amps), and kitchen stove (up to 50 amps) to natural or propane gas. Not only do you get an overall increase in available power, these conversions will quickly pay for themselves in energy savings. If your bathroom electrical outlets are of the two prong variety, install GFCI outlets for increased protection against shock - use the test and reset buttons monthly.
